Dr. Stewart Perrilliat
A native of Oakland, California, Reverend Dr. Stewart Perrilliat grew up in a community that was plagued with a number of challenging institutional socio-economic ills. Nevertheless, Stewart escaped the lures of the streets and became a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp before becoming the Founder and Executive Director of “Man 2 Man - Urban Youth Advocate", a program designed to help strengthen the role of young men of color, as powerful, positive, and protective co-parents through recovery, intervention and educational programs.
Stewart is married to Jonnique Perrilliat and is a father of a 17-year-old daughter, a 19-year-old son, a 30-year old daughter who resides in Arizona, and a 35-year-old daughter, who resides in Maryland with his two-year-old grandson.
Stewart earned his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, his M.A. in Theology from San Francisco Theological Seminary and completed his doctorate in Executive Leadership from the University of Redlands.
An author and an ordained Reverend at Allen Temple Baptist Church, Stewart performs prison ministry, serving the men who are incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison since 1995. Through this ministry, Stewart helps facilitate change in their lives by providing life skills and using the word of God as an instrument for transformation.
Stewart is also a member of the Father’s Corps, which is a part of First Five Alameda County. Stewart has a passion for assisting men and equipping them with the tools to become more responsible, loving fathers, so that they can be more engaged in their children’s lives and better able to interact with the other parent, for the sake of their children’s healthy mental, physical, and spiritual development.
