Melinda Barr is a lifelong Chicago native. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois. She received her Master of Science degree in Management Information Systems from Dominican University.
Melinda Barr started her professional career as a systems programmer at Allstate Insurance Company. She has subsequently held development positions at ADP, Tribune Company, School District U-46, Healthcare Financial Management Association, and the National Association of Realtors, Wiley, Crain's Communications, and National Marine Manufacturers Association. She has over twenty years of information technology experience, most of which directly deals with web application development and administration of content management systems. Past responsibilities have included database administration, 3rd party vendor integration, application development, and performance enhancement implementation. In addition to her coding duties, she has acted as a project lead for technical projects which required writing user requirements, developing project plans, constructing flow charts to outline functionality workflow, and composing training documentation.
