Timothy Roberts, M.S.
Timothy W. Roberts is a Contract Administrator in the Alameda County Social Services Agency’s (ACSSA) Administration and Finance Department. During his almost 26-year tenure with Alameda County he has also served in the capacity of ACSSA Acting Executive Assistant/Public Information Officer.
Prior to joining the ACSSA, Mr. Roberts worked as Communication Coordinator for the Alameda County Women and Infants Demonstration Project (WIDP). The project was a national five-year CDC-funded AIDS education/prevention project administered by the Alameda County Public Health Dept. (ACPHD).
Mr. Roberts also served in a similar communication capacity for the Alameda County Male Action Network (ACMAN)—a male health and teen pregnancy prevention program of the ACPHD. His experience working for programs targeting teen and young adult males also includes a stint as Director of The Young Men as Fathers Program (YMFP). The YMFP was a parenting/mentoring program funded by the California Youth Authority. The program operated under the umbrella of the Court Appointed Special Advocates Program (CASA) which was housed in the Alameda County Probation Dept.
Mr. Roberts also serves on the Board of Directors of Man 2 Man—an Oakland-based youth and young adult mentoring community-based organization—and is a member of the Alameda County Fathers Corps (ACFC) and formerly served on the ACFC Leadership Team. His professional experience includes working as a print and broadcast journalist and public affairs administrator for two of Oakland-based Kaiser Permanente’s northern California medical facilities.
Mr. Roberts holds a MS in Journalism from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois and a BA in Mass Communication from CSU Hayward (now CSU Eastbay).
